To comply with Central Gauteng Athletics standards, there will be a water point approximately every 3km on all routes. Water points will be stocked with Coca-cola / Powerade and water.

Judith Road at the intersection of Hill Avenue in Emmarentia

Marks Park Sports Field, Emmarentia, off Orange Road

Race Number Collection:
Entrants must collect their Walk Pack at Race Number Collection at Marks Park Sports Club, Emmarentia.

Medals: All finishers will receive a commemorative medal on completion of the route within the specified time limit for the distance.
Cut-off time : 30km is 5 hours and 15km is 3 hours. The 5km and 8km do not have time limits.

Park ‘n Ride:

A Park ‘n Ride service is available. Gautrain Bus will be supplying all busses for Park ‘n Ride and shuttle services as a more efficient way of getting to and from the venue.

There are four destinations:
• The Coca-Cola Dome, Northgate
• Rosebank Gautrain Station
• Sandton Gautrain Station
• University of Johannesburg Park Shuttle

VENUE

Marks Park Sports Club

For the seventh year running, the renowned Marks Park Sports Club will be the home of the Discovery 702 Walk the Talk.

The club will once again make their well-maintained facilities available to over 50 000 walkers who participate in this prestigious event.Marks Park Sports Club was founded on the 19th December 1938 under the chairmanship of the then Town Clerk of Johannesburg, Mr. I. Marks with some 1 200 members.

Activities at the club commenced at headquarters being Patterson Park, with various sections being spread all over the city.
It was only in 1951 that the club moved to its present premises, with the existing main clubhouse being a farmhouse, which was owned by the Geldenhuys family.
