Entries are open to the first 50 000 paid entries up to 7 June 2018 only.
Entry fees are non-refundable. Online entries only, with no option to pay later. If you have not paid, your entry will not be saved. Methods of payment allowed are: Credit Card or Fast EFT - both are accessible from the online entry system.

A portion of every 5km and 8km entry will be donated to the MTN Walk the Talk with 702 Community Legacy Project. All entry fees include 15% VAT.
Each entrant will be given a unique identifying walk number in their Walk Pack to be collected from number collection. This number must be pinned to the front of the walker’s shirt. This number is vital in terms of emergencies and event logistics. Persons entering at the start area and walking on routes without a valid 2018 MTN Walk the Talk with 702 unique identifying walk number will be removed from both the start area and routes and will be prohibited from walking. Persons who enter and pay before 31 May 2018 will receive a personalised race number. The name provided by the entrant in the Nickname field of entry form will be used (limited to 8 characters. No profanity or offensive words permitted).

Entrants must pick up their Walk Pack during number collection at Marks Park Sports Club, Emmarentia. Please note that the team representative that collects the Walk the Talk packs must come to number collection with a full team list. Alternatively, large teams may want to utilise a courier service to collect and deliver the Walk Packs (At an additional cost) please contact the Walk the Talk office for more information on 011 017 2700.

Teams(10 or more entrants)
Team entries need to be completed online at www.walkthetalk.co.za. Even though you are entering as a team, it is critical that each entrant’s details are entered onto the system. Each team must provide a team name as part of the entry process. Teams may include families, schools, corporate companies and social clubs. Entries will only be valid once payment has been received. Team entries close on Monday 28 May 2018
All finishers will receive a commemorative medal on completion of the walk within the specified time limit for the distance.
All walks will have full road closures. No vehicles, motorbikes or bicycles will be allowed on the routes. The road closure is enforced by Johannesburg Metro Police and Johannesburg Roads Agency. Judith Road will be closed to traffic from Beyers Naude Drive to Barry Hertzog Avenue from 04h00 – 14h00 on Sunday 22 July 2018. There will be a water point at the finish as well as 3 water points on the 15km, 2 water points on the 8km and 1 waterpoint on the 5km routes stocked with Coca-Cola/Powerade and water, toilets and medical support (ER24).
Dogs are permitted on the 5km & 8km walks only. Only pre-entered dogs will be able to participate in these walks.
Doggie water points and emergency veterinary support will be available on these routes. Walkers need to be entered into the Walk themselves in order to register their dogs. (See special dog entry terms and conditions.)
Park and Ride
A Park and Ride service is available as a more efficient way of getting to and from the venue. Purchase tickets on the online entry system under merchandise. Go to www.walkthetalk.co.za for more information.
There will be medical support at the start, en route and at the finish line.
Any reasonable medical or emergency evacuation costs incurred on behalf of an entrants by the MTN Walk the Talk with 702 will be for the cost of the entrant.
No participant may sell their number, or allow anyone else to walk under that number. A substitution may be applied for through Race Office. An administration fee of R50 will be charged per substitution.
Substitutions may be applied for through the Race Office until 7 June 2018 or at Queries at Number Collection from 18 – 21 July 2018.
If you are entering for any person other than yourself (“third party”) then by accepting these terms and conditions, you do so being duly authorised by the third party to accept the terms and conditions on such third party’s behalf and you agree to indemnify the organisers and their representatives harmless against all claims.
Persons signing this entry form as guardian of a minor hereby consent to such minor being bound by the aforementioned parties to the extent. If any, to which such minor is not capable of waiving his/her rights as stipulated above.
Waiver & Indemnity
Waiver: Participants take part entirely at their own risk and agree that they shall have no claim whatsoever against the Organising Committee, any individual or official, marshal, assistant, helper or agent, the sponsors or any local authority or their employees, in respect of any loss or damage whatsoever which participants may suffer arising from any injury to their person or loss or damage to their property as a result of, or arising out of, whether directly or indirectly, the participants' arrival and departure there from, attendance at registration, prize-giving or other function thereof, however such loss or damage may arise. Persons signing this entry form as guardian of a minor hereby consent to such minor being bound by the a foregoing and further indemnify the organisers and aforementioned parties to the extent, of any, to which such minor is not capable of waiving his/her rights as stipulated above. Persons taking part in the MTN Walk the Talk with 702 as part of a team and whose entries were made on their behalf are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions by virtue of their participation in the MTN Walk the Talk with 702.
Indemnity: The participant agrees to abide by the rules of the MTN Walk the Talk with 702, and confirms that she/he has read them, and understands that she/he takes part in the MTN Walk the Talk with 702 at his/her own risk and indemnifies the sponsors and/or organisers against any claim which may result from his/her participation. The participant further understands that it is his/her responsibility to be medically fit to take part in the MTN Walk the Talk with 702. This indemnity applies equally to teams entering under the rules and conditions of entry. In entering the MTN Walk the Talk with 702, the participant understands that the Organising Committee will take photographs of the event including participants to the event and she/he consents to such photographs being taken at the event and being used for promotional and publicity purposes at the Organising Committee’s sole discretion. The participant further understands and accepts that the photographs are and will remain the property of the sponsors and/or organisers.
Privacy: The personal information which is collected from you and processed by Primedia Proprietary Limited and/or its race organiser is done solely with your consent and in accordance with the Primedia Privacy Notice, available at www.primedia.co.za. The personal information which you provide to us in completing the online entry form will be processed purely for legitimate Primedia
business. We will not share your personal information further unless Primedia Proprietary Limited so requires in terms of law or in terms of a legitimate business purpose.
