How are you going to get to the MTN Walk the Talk with 702?

With thousands of walkers, you need to plan ahead to make sure that you get to the venue as easily as possible. There are a number of options to consider:

Park and Ride:

With departure points around the city, Park & Ride SA takes the hassle out of negotiating road closures around the venue and ensures you can be at the venue with plenty of time ahead of your start.Buses depart from the departure venues below, from 05h00 onwards. Remember where the bus drops you off as that will be where you catch a bus to get back. The buses will be colour coded to help you to find the right one for your chosen venue. Buses will leave the venue from 10h00 until 15h00. Costs are between R80 and R99 and tickets must be bought through the merchandise store that is linked to your entry, login to purchase, here.

Uber or other ride hailing or cab service

To avoid having to park, take one of the many cab hailing services or meter taxis that are now operating in Joburg. The road closures will still apply so make sure you’ve checked the maps that will be in your race pack, to find the best route for your cab to take. To bring down costs, fill the cab and split the fare.

There is ample free parking in the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens accessible off Thomas Bowler. Fill the car and leave plenty of time to get to the parking as the roads around this area will be very busy on the day, and a number of roads will be closed from as early as 4am. Please check the maps in your race pack or check the links below to find your best route.

NOTE – Illegal car guards may try to direct you to park on the side of the roads around Marks Park. This parking is not secured by the event.
